This can be a touchy topic... of course, it's my understanding that it's also more common in the US than elsewhere (God DAMN it).
So, what's everyone's opinions on book banning?

I think it's ridiculous. Every time I hear that a book got banned, I think, "Oh, hey, that's probably a good read" and go out to buy it, because it's true; books that get banned are usually really good, because they've got something to say and they don't beat around the bush with it. I have a whole bookshelf of banned books, because it's my Recommended shelf!

(In case you're wondering, my personal library has a better selection than either of the two public libraries around here, so I lend a lot of books out)

(Wow, thats impressive.)

Hmm...i guess it depends on the book. Although, ive never heard of something like that here in Canada, im sure that if certain books got banned, i'd be upset. It truly is stupid to ban books, I voted "it depends on the book" Because of a certain series that is way too popular for its own good...*coughtwilightcough* But either way, I apologize if that offends anyone. As for banning books that express certain views, or certain kinds of knowledge, I do agree with Kuro in saying that its ridiculous.
